Differential Power
Ratings:
We do not attach a power rating to any of our heavy duty driveline components or differentials for a few very specific reasons. Typically the horsepower of an engine is *NOT* what damages drivetrain parts, torque and application does however; so to put an inaccurate rating on a driveline component is foolish for the builder and misleading to the customer- therefore we don't do that in any capacity. Additionally, "rating" any sort of driveline component with any sort of power ratings is typically a marketing strategy only meant to sell parts, without regard to giving the customer what they really need based on how they drive the car and what the intended usage is for that car. Lastly, when making the decision to purchase a differential, one needs to take into consideration how much power the car currently has, how much it will have, the intended usage for the car, if the car will be taken to the track...ever, if the car has wider/stickier compound tires compared to stock and if the driveline will use a differential strut or not. Plan to experience wheel hop, (which we *HIGHLY* discourage, because most Corvette's do to some extent if *ANY* of the driveline suspension components are left stock, (i.e. control arm bushings, shocks and alignment) so add strengthening options accordingly to provide a cushion for that. Build the strongest driveline you possibly can within your budget and drive the car accordingly based on the options you chose. One can *NEVER* have too much driveline strength for any vehicle platform.

products for over 4 years…long before anyone else was doing it or
felt the need to. NO other Corvette differential builder offers the
same level of component preparation, build quality and professional
engineering into their driveline products as DTE
does.…...period!
Don't be fooled by other "cheaply built" differentials
that others offer that don't include the same level of attention to
build quality, professional engineering and component detail that
DTE always offers as "standard" equipment; such as
including cryogenically treated gears sets, complete assembly deburring, etc.
We are also the ONLY
Corvette IRS differential builder to successfully convert the
2-series differentials to accept the 3.15, 3.42, 3.73, 3.90 , 4.10
ratio's without sacrificing durability of any kind! Many of them are
in continued use on the drag strip to date with outstanding success!
Our competition consistently trails DTE in high performance, design engineering
concepts for the Getrag Differential. They often
copy our high performance differential components and blatantly
label it as "their own design" or "concept"
directly off the back of all of our R&D efforts. Some of our own product description text
found on our website has even been found to be shamelessly
cut-&-pasted directly onto our competition's website even though
they are not authorized DTE product dealers!
The bottom line is~ Our Corvette driveline products may be imitated by our competition for themselves, but they will
NEVER be duplicated to our precision engineering and quality. DTE is and will remain, the leader in creating innovative, high performance, HD Getrag Differentials and components, as we are relentless in our quest for the "perfect" product design. When it comes to driveline
component quality and build services, you certainly get what you pay for!!!
